2019 marked Inaugural Seafood Festival
People asked, and Sea Farms Seafood delivered! Last year, Mathews County enjoyed its first ever Seafood Festival and all of the proceeds were donated to Mathews first responders. Over 700 people enjoyed the event, and 2020 is expected to be bigger than last!
2020 Festival is scheduled for Saturday, August 22nd!
About the Festival
Enjoy all-you-can-eat seafood including oysters, clams, fish, shrimp, crabs, and sides of hush-puppies and coleslaw. Tickets also drink tickets from Mathews Rotary’s beer tent.
There will be live music against the beautiful back drop of the East River. The festival also features nearly 20 local craft vendors so make sure you bring cash as there will be no cards or ATM’s available at the Wharf! Bring your own chair and get ready for a great night!
Come by boat or car. Parking and water taxi information will be available closer to the event.
Tickets are not yet available, but stay tuned!
About Sea Farms
Sea Farms has grown into an international seafood supplier based out of Hudgins in Mathews County, right on the Chesapeake Bay. This company has been around since 1987, when owner Ron Sopko opened this family-style seafood wholesale business.
You may have noticed that they’ve been growing – Sea Farms Seafood Shack now sits on Mathews Main Street Wednesdays through Saturdays in summer with fresh supplies of whatever you can get your hands on: shrimp, salmon, haddock, cod, lobster, oysters, clams, mahi, and more favorites are ready for you to purchase bay-to-table on any given week. Rob will hook you up!
Interested in Volunteering?
This festival is only made possibly with the help of volunteers. They still need some to help with operations! If you are interested, please email email@example.com or call or text 804-724-9376 to sign up. Shifts are 4 hours long and will include free ticket entry to half of the festival.
