Welcome to Cricket Hill House, a waterfront retreat on Gwynn’s Island, where artfully decorated and designed accommodations meet some of the best views on the Chesapeake Bay.
Set directly on Milford Haven, Cricket Hill House was created as a place to slow down and enjoy the water. Every room has a water view. Owner Gary Goerss, an artist, architect and custom home builder who has been coming to Gwynn’s Island for more than 20 years, designed and built the property with the setting in mind.
Cricket Hill House includes two waterfront buildings with nine suites total. The suites offer the privacy and convenience of your own space while still giving guests the opportunity to enjoy the property together. Most feature king beds, and each includes a private bathroom, kitchenette, and sitting area. Mini-split heating and air conditioning make the rooms comfortable throughout all seasons.
The water is at the heart of the Cricket Hill House experience. Wake up to a sunrise over Milford Haven, enjoy your morning coffee overlooking the bay or head straight from the property onto the water. Guests can kayak, explore Gwynn’s Island and Mathews County or spend an unhurried afternoon simply enjoying the view. Most Saturdays, Gary will make a home cooked meal for guests and coffee is always available.
Boaters can also arrive by water. Cricket Hill House is also well suited for couples traveling together, families and small groups who want their own private accommodations while staying in one location.
