Mathews VA250 Patriotic Concert

In preparation for Mathews County’s grand July 4th celebration, the Mathews VA250 Committee invites residents, neighbors, and visitors to a special concert on Friday, May 15, at Mathews High School.

Co-sponsored by the Mathews Museum, Mathews Historical Society, Sons of the American Revolution, and Daughters of the American Revolution, this event commemorates the 250th anniversary of Virginia’s declaration of independence—the first colony to do so.

The Courthouse Community Orchestra, directed by Staff Sergeant Jarrett Kocan of the U.S. Air Force, will perform an engaging program of music starting at 7:00 p.m. (Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.)

Admission is free. Join in for an afternoon of music and history as we celebrate Virginia’s role in America’s fight for independence!
