Langley Deagle 2021 Mathews Market Days Poster
The Mathews Market Days Committee is proud to present the artwork of the late Mr. W. Langley Deagle, Sr. featured on this year’s Mathews Market Days poster.
Langley was a graduate of Mathews High School, a graphic artist for the Naval Weapons Station, and also known for having painted the names on many boats in and around the Mathews County area. His work expanded from on boats to paintings on canvas, drawings on paper, and more, primarily showcasing his love for birds and the Chesapeake Bay. The 2021 Mathews Market Days poster features Langley’s painting of a local buyboat, the “Lavenia H.”
Mrs. Janet Deagle will be present on Saturday, December 4th from 10 AM – 1 PM along with some of their children to honor Langley’s artwork and legacy during the first sale of this year’s poster.
There will be 175 posters available for sale with a limited number signed.
