The coat belonging to Capt. Sally L. Tompkins CSA and owned by Mathews County Historical Society has been conserved and restored and will be unveiled to the public in honor of the 100th anniversary of her death. It was selected as the 11th most endangered artifact in Virginia by the 2015 Virginia Association of Museum’s online survey. Reception will follow.
