“America Made in Virginia: 250 Years Together” PBS Watch Party

The Court House Players and the Mathews County VA250 Committee invite the public to a free community watch party for the national PBS broadcast of “America Made in Virginia: 250 Years Together” on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at the Harry M. Ward Auditorium at Mathews High School.
Doors will open at 7:30 p.m., with the live PBS broadcast airing from 8:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.
This special national broadcast originates from Colonial Williamsburg and is part of Virginia’s official commemoration of America’s 250th Anniversary. The program will celebrate the nation’s founding through music, historical storytelling, patriotic performances, and spectacular Fourth of July festivities from the very place where America’s journey toward independence began.
The free event offers Mathews residents and visitors an opportunity to experience this once-in-a-generation celebration together as a community while enjoying the comfort of the Harry M. Ward Auditorium’s large-screen viewing experience.
Concessions will be available for purchase.
The event is presented by the Court House Players and the Mathews County VA250 Committee as part of local efforts to commemorate the 250th anniversary of American independence and Virginia’s pivotal role in the founding of the United States.
Community members of all ages are encouraged to attend and celebrate this historic milestone together.
