This family-owned property offers a relaxing stay with unbeatable sunsets, abundant wildlife, and a private dock with deep water access. It is available for weekly rentals June – August, plus long weekends in the off-season. Message us about rates for longer stays.
The property has 4 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms (1 bathroom is a downstairs en-suite). Maximum occupancy is 6 adults or 9 people including children.
Gwynn’s Island is a quiet, waterfront community, perfect for boating and nature enthusiasts. The town of Mathews is only 10 minutes away with shops, dining, and community events.
The island boasts the Gwynn’s Island Museum, local church services, a public boat ramp, and a wonderful waterfront restaurant (Hole in the Wall Waterfront Grill).
You can also hire a local captain who will pick you up from our property’s dock, and take you on a sunset cruise or guided fishing trip.
The greater Mathews area offers activities like kayak tours, public sand beaches, blueberry picking, and farm markets. Art lovers can visit the many galleries in town. And history buffs can learn about the area by visiting the Mathews Maritime Museum. We provide a Guidebook at the house, which contains more info & tips for how to enjoy the local area.
Some guests may wish to trailer their own boat, and use our dock as an overnight berth. Usage of the dock in this manner is approved on a case-by-case basis, depending on boat size and weather conditions. Please contact us directly for more info.
