This restored historic farmhouse built in 1885 offers more than 4,200 sq. feet of living space with beautiful water views from every room. It’s located right on the water and only minutes from downtown Mathews, VA. With spacious comfortable rooms, a large glassed-in sunroom, a fully-equipped kitchen, and space to spread out, you couldn’t ask for a more relaxing and serene setting.
Swing on the front porch, crab off the brand-new dock, relax with a good book, dine at a fine restaurant in downtown Mathews, watch local artisans create their unique works of art, or shop in a local antique store. These choices and many others are yours when you spend a vacation at our beautiful home.
The home has a master suite on the main floor, and a second master upstairs. Both master bedrooms have large windows with excellent views of the tidal creek. The master beds have remote controlled adjustable bed frames, so you can adjust the head and foot height to your liking. Each master is furnished with an oversized chair and ottoman. Cozy up with your favorite book or just lounge and enjoy the view of the water.
The third bedroom features another king bed, while the fourth bedroom is the “kids” room. It has two full size and one single bed. All of the beds have luxurious high thread count percale cotton sheets that you would expect to find in an upscale hotel. As well, each bed has plush down alternative pillows, soft pillow tops mattresses, and extra blankets.
Enjoy dinner in the large formal dining room or in the air-conditioned sunroom for panoramic water views up close. A third table in the kitchen is a great place to have a cup of coffee and play one of the many card and boards games provided. The kitchen is fully equipped and includes a microwave, dishwasher, Keurig, waffle maker, griddle, and baking essentials. A large kitchen island provides plenty of counter space to make cooking your favorite meals a delight.
The brand-new dock has a huge gathering area (390 sq ft) for the whole family to enjoy the water. Relax in comfortable Adirondack chairs while you fish or crab. We provide crab traps, fishing gear, and life jackets, so all you need to supply is bait. Bring your boat and enjoy easy access to the Chesapeake. The creek is 3-4’ mlw (mean low water level) at the dock, so most boats can access it even at low tide.
