Islander Regatta
Annual 9 mile paddling event for non-motorized craft, circumnavigating one of Virginia’s few inhabited islands: Gwynn’s Island in Mathews County. Registration cost is $65 per person not per boat. Tandem kayaks, 8-person racing shells, paddle boats and even dragon boats (!!) are permitted as long as they are human powered, non-motorized. Each paddler must register separately (must be 14 or older). Register here

The one-mile swim will begin at 10 am in waves, based on the following categories: PUFFERFISH uses swim aids/ swim fins/ flotation device. You’re not a strong swimmer OR just want to relax in the water and will feel much more comfortable completing the one-mile distance if you use a swim aid, such as fins, a vest or even a floatie raft.
