Freya Homecoming Celebration

Due to extreme weather conditions on the Atlantic Ocean, the return of the Freya has been delayed and the celebration for May 27 was postponed. This historic sailboat built by Gilbert Klingel in the 1950’s is returning to the place where she was built. The Freya, recently donated to the Mathews Maritime Foundation, will be on display at the Gwynn’s Island Boat Yard dock and will serve as an educational vessel.

Directions: Cross the bridge to Gwynn’s Island and follow the signs to the boat yard. It is on the right shortly after the bridge.
