8th Annual Chili Cook-Off

As you know, this event has become one of the biggest social events of the winter in Mathews! With over 500 people at the Piankatank Ruritan Club the night before the Super Bowl, it is a fun and enjoyable experience.
The Mathews Historical Museum, Mathews Land Conservancy, Mathews Kiwanis Club, Mathews Bay School and Mathews Rotary Club will not only compete for the “BEST CHILI” in Mathews, but they will also raise money to improve the lives of Mathews’ citizens! As in the past, the Rotary Club will be awarding the “Judges Choice & People’s Choice” individual awards as a $200 donation to the winning participant organization instead of a trophy! There will also be a prize of $100 for the “Best Decorated Booth” competition!
Take out orders will be available for purchase at the door and each booth will have quarts available for sale after 6:00 PM.
