Earl Swift – Visiting Author

Earl Swift, author of “Chesapeake Requiem,” will speak about his book which takes an intimate look at Tangier Island, it’s past, present and tenuous future. A veteran journalist, Swift made his home among the residents of Tangier for more than a year after thinking for some time that writing a book on the Island was something he “wanted to do.”  As a result, he saw firsthand, not only the encroaching waters that threaten the Island but also the degree to which the residents are bound together as a community.
