Bay Fly-Fishing’s Captain, Chris Newsome, offers guided tours for fly fishing and light tackle fishing charters all over the Chesapeake Bay of Virginia. Newsome lives in Mathews and has has guided anglers on Virginia’s saltwater for over two decades. Newsome is currently the area’s only full-time saltwater fly fishing and light tackle guide making his schedule hard to get in, meaning you likely have too book far in advance.
Charters are located on the calm, shallow waters of VA’s Middle Peninsula and Northern Neck. Anglers use fly or spin fishing tackle for inshore species such as striped bass, speckled trout, redfish, Spanish mackerel, bluefish, cobia and more. All skill levels from children to accomplished anglers.
