Whether you’re a competitive cyclist or someone whose idea of biking includes training wheels, Mathews County has something in store for you! For 19 years, our Tour de Chesapeake has attracted cyclists of all skill sets for a weekend of fun, relaxation, entertainment, education, and a unique opportunity to view our idyllic county at your own leisurely pace.
This year’s event, which includes over 110 miles of peaceful rural routes covering Mobjack, Gwynns Island, Bethel Beach and New Point Comfort, will be held the weekend of May 20. In addition to bicycling, you can hop on a boat tour of the East River, visit the Bay School for an art exhibit, take a kayak tour, and enjoy delicious local seafood and live entertainment Saturday evening at Williams Wharf. Having attended the past several iterations of the Seafood Feast and Party at the Wharf , I can tell you it’s an evening of great music and food overlooking the gorgeous East River not to be missed!
So mark your calendars and tell your friends and family about this unique opportunity to experience beautiful Mathews County on two wheels, three wheels or however many wheels you need to get around!
