With the cold of winter safely behind us, Mathews County welcomes the beauty and splendor of spring with a nod to its past by celebrating May Faire on Saturday, May 6, 2017, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on the historic Court Green in the center of town.
Sponsored by the Mathews County Historical Museum Society, the family-friendly event will feature music, games, food, demonstrations, a Maypole dance, and recognition of past Mathews May Queens.
Visiting Mathews on any given day is like stepping back in time to simpler, less hurried days. But this event promises to usher us back even further, since the historical focus of this year’s festival is from 1600-1791.
If you’re looking for a unique way to spend a Saturday, bring your family and friends to this first-of-its kind festival.
Only in Mathews.
