Description
We are thrilled to share our circa 1867 family home with our guests. Mariner’s Legacy celebrates the maritime history of Mathews and the Chesapeake Bay. According to family lore, the house was even built by ship wrights (carpenters) after the Civil War. Showcasing Mathews County’s relationship to the sea was the over riding theme through the home and property, even to the books found throughout the house. The house restoration was completed in 2015. We then began to recreate the landscaping of the early 1900’s, as my great-grandmother and grandmother had lovingly planted. Our guests have found Mariner’s Legacy to be the perfect place for family members of all ages.
