Market Days Race
The Mathews Family YMCA is pleased to once again host the 5k-plus race* and 1-mile fun run this year in conjunction with the annual Mathews Market Days festival. Both races start and end at the YMCA (10746 Buckley Hall Road, Mathews). Awards will be presented to the fastest Male & Female overall 5k-plus finisher, and to the top finishers in 9 age groups. Mathews Rotary Derby Day

Horn Harbor Duathlon (Run+Swim)
Also known as "Beat The Jellies" we're doing it again! This is our 4th Horn Harbor Duathlon - the date/time selected is to avoid jellyfish (which arrive in the area late June/ early July) and to coincide with high tide. Join us in celebrating a wee bit of Scotland! Bagpipes and drums lead the parade for the start of the annual Highland games. Participants compete in fun and challenging traditional Celtic sports that originated centuries ago in Scotland. The games, testing strength, endurance and skill, are “sized” by age groups 6 to 14. Register in advance for a FREE t-shirt! Bus leaves library at 8:45 a.m. to take children to the Piankatank Ruritan Recreational Field.

Market Days 5k & 1m Fun Run

This year marks the 12th Annual L. Wayne Hudgins Wharf to Wharf Swim to benefit the Mathews Land Conservancy's and the new Owens Waters Edge Center at Williams Wharf.
