Christmas Parade Food Drive
Mathews Cub Scout Pack 124’s Annual Christmas Food Drive To donate: Have food items in grocery bags in front of you during the parade so the Scouts can collect them. Thank you! We will be collecting canned goods and non-perishable food items for Hands Across Mathews during the Mathews Christmas Parade on December 9th starting at 1:00 pm.

The Bay School and Hands Across Mathews are excited to be hosting our fourth annual Empty Bowls event. The hand-made bowls are starting to stack up on the shelves at the Bay School and more are being made as we speak. An incredible assortment of hand-made soups, breads, and cookies will be served during the event. Familiar potters and chefs will be joined by some new hands, both novice and expert. Mobjack Kayaking is bringing back an old tradition, 'Caroling on the Creek'. On Saturday December 16th participants will paddle their lighted kayaks up Put-in-Creek between 4:30 and 6:30 pm. If you would like to join in with your kayak call 757-645-6251. If you live on the creek please come down to the water's edge and join our caroling fun!

The 5th Annual MVRS Chili Cook-Off on Saturday, February 3, 2018 features six (6) non-profit civic groups competing for the BEST CHILI in Mathews County! Matt Williams, owner of Under Boats, will be the presenter at the February Speaker Meeting of the Mathews Maritime Foundation. He will describe various aspects of diving and salvage operations such as raising your sunken boat, cleaning the hull, underwater construction and removal, and underwater videos.
