Shops will be open until 7 pm, with refreshments. Pick up a punch-card and find the hidden blue crabs in each shop, and be entered into a drawing for a family prize basket. This year's Mathews Christmas Parade theme is "Blue Crab Christmas!" The parade will be held on Saturday December 14, at 1 PM! There is no rain date if the parade is cancelled due to inclement weather, and the parade will take place rain or shine. A special quilting exhibit, “Threads of Our History: Quilts of Mathews Virginia,” will debut at the Mathews Museum, October 5 and will be on exhibit through the end of December. These quilts are from a private collection of an old Mathews family, going back over a century. Mathews is a small, rural southern county sitting on the Chesapeake Bay.
