The TOGA-sponsored Annual Spring Oyster Fair will be held on April 28th, at 9am at the Gwynn’s Island Civic Center.

SCHEDULE

9:00 – 10:00: Vendors of oyster gardening equipment, spat and supplies are invited to display their wares for sale. Spat availability is uncertain at this time due to the cold winter. This is a good time to question Master Oyster Gardeners and vendors about your gardening issues.

10:00 – 10:10: Remarks by TOGA President Terry Lewis

10:10 – 11:00: Key Note Speaker, Dr. Jim Wesson will share his knowledge and experiences after over 2 decades leading the oyster program on Virginia’s public oyster grounds.

11:00 – 11:20: Vic Spain will discuss how to get started in oyster gardening (oyster seed, deploy methods, equipment, maintenance, quantity, harvest, sanitation, etc).

This event is free and open to everyone.
