The Mathews County Historical Society announces the re-opening of ca. 1820 Thomas James Store, one of the best-preserved country stores in southeast. The store was the recipient of Emergency Supplemental Historic Preservation Funds by the U.S. Department of the Interior National Park Service, administered by Virginia Department of Historic Resources.
