DESCRIPTION:Looking for a cool experience where science leads to sustainable culinary bliss?!\n\nJoin Oyster Seed Holdings for a hatchery tour and tasting running every other Friday\, May – August. Get a behind the scenes look at what it takes to put oyster seed in the hands of farmers.\n\nOn Tour Fridays\, there will be 6 tours with 6 people per tour starting at 5pm. Your ticket gets you an oyster tasting and a tour through the hatchery with a staff member where you will learn how oysters get their start.  Also included is access to the pop-up oyster bar from 5-9pm where you are welcome to come before and stay after your tour time to enjoy the sunset over local oysters\, beer\, and wine for sale.\n\nFrom Oyster Seed Holdings: Please note that we regret that our facility is not currently ADA accessible.  In addition the floors in the hatchery can be wet and slippery and patrons should wear appropriate\, grippy\, footwear.

DESCRIPTION:The Mathews Historical Museum is hosting its 5th Annual Spring Heritage Festival – May Faire 2023! \nMay Day Festivals were commonplace in Mathews from early 1900s to the 1980s. The Mathews Historical Museum reintroduced the festival concept in 2017\, renaming it “May Faire.” Each year May Faire honors the heritage of Mathews County\, providing residents and visitors an opportunity to explore a different theme from the County’s past. The theme for May Faire 2023 is “Celebrating Teachers\, Schools and Community: Over a Hundred Years of Public Education in Mathews County.” \nActivities will take place both on Court House Green and the Museum. DESCRIPTION:Premier cycling event on the beautiful Chesapeake Bay with 4 concise routes\, each around 25 miles\, which take cyclists from our own Gwynn’s Island to Bethel Beach to the New Point Lighthouse. Each route has fully stocked rest stops\, SAG support and lovely views galore! You may ride any route as many times as you like to add up the miles! We are the only ride that offers a WATER TAXI on an authentic Chesapeake Bay Deadrise within one of the routes! Our ride culminates on Saturday evening with a Seafood Feast and Party at the Wharf\, at the Riverfront Pavilion at historic Williams Wharf Landing.
