SUMMARY:Micro Triathlon at Williams Wharf
DESCRIPTION:1/4 mile swim\, 8 mile bike\, 2 mile run. Distances are shorter than a typical triathlon: for beginner triathletes\, or experienced competitors who want to practice their transitions. \nCost: $20 for non-club members\, $10 for VTTR club members (on line & race day registration) – OR $30 if you want to complete with friends as a 2 or 3 person relay! \nPrize: N/A. Event fees will cover rental of Williams Wharf facility \nSchedule: Meet at Williams Wharf transition area 8:00-8:30am to set up your transition area. Race instruction/ course overview/ registration will start promptly at 8:30am and race will start shortly after. \nTiming: Split times (including transition times) will be provided during optional post-race debrief and via email. \nImportant: Event support at Williams Wharf only. Signed waiver will be required along with entry fee.

DESCRIPTION:Soothin’ Summer Sounds @ Mathews Memorial Library is “Hitting a High Note Again” with Art Muroff & Friends “a classy jazz” group. \nArt Muroff\, born and educated in Brooklyn\, N.Y.\, began studying the piano at the age of five. “Every mother wanted her son to be a concert pianist\,” says Art\, but he wound up veering off into the world of jazz and pop instead. At 13 he was playing with various jazz orchestras\, although he had specialized in classical music. \nArt Muroff & Friends play everything from “Cole Porter to Proud Mary – dance music\, show tunes\, Latin music\, some swing\, some light rock.”
