Registration will close on October 9 – cost is $50 for Half Marathon\, $75 for Full Marathon.\n \n\n\nThe race course is along open roads (not closed to traffic). “Caution Runner” signs will be prominently displayed along the route and participants are advised to be aware of other runners and motorists.\n\nAll participants in the Full & Half Marathon will receive a finisher medal and custom hooded sweatshirt to commemorate their accomplishment. Awards will be presented to fastest overall finishers and to winners in several categories.\nPost Event Activities will be held at the Put In Creek park pavilion. Race participants and spectators are encouraged to enjoy the Mathews Farmers Market which will be ongoing at the adjoining courthouse area.\nAll activities will wrap up at 1pm – race support will end at that time as well. Any racers who are still on the course after six hours will be offered transportation to the finish area by the event crew.

Team Captains will complete a roster of their players\, which will include a signed waiver for each participant (or parent for players ages 14-17). You do not need to be a resident of Mathews County to participate in this tournament. \n\n\nPre-Tournament Meeting. Each team captain or designated representative needs to attend a meeting a few weeks before the event. The event organizer will review schedule and rules with captains/ reps and collect team rosters. Also during this meeting\, Team Captains will select colors & sizes for their team member shirts.

The route is 10 miles and the cost is $30. \nCombine the run & ride\nFeeling adventurous? Sign up for the combined Run & Ride and make it a duathlon. The 4 mile run and 10 mile ride routes are the same as the individual events described above – you’ll stage your bicycle so that as you complete the run leg\, you can immediately head out onto the bike course. The cost is $50.

As of July 1\, 2016\, all operators (regardless of age) of PWCs (personal watercraft such as jet skis\, Sea Doos\, and Wave Runners) and motorboats with a motor of 10 horsepower or greater will be required to have a boating safety education course completion card on board when operating a PWC or motorboat.

That’s right: it’s free & open to everyone. \nLocation. This event will start and end at Put-In-Creek park and pavilion in Mathews Courthouse. Just a few years ago\, the town of Mathews built a new dock and kayak ramp there so getting in and out of the water is really easy. The creek is tidal so we schedule it to finish very near high tide to ensure no one gets stuck in the mud. \nHigh Tide on 6 Sep 2021 is 9:02am ET \n2021 Schedule. Participants will drop off kayak at Williams Wharf at 8am (we’ll have a volunteer posted there to keep an eye on the kayaks and assist with the transition) and drive to starting area at Put-In-Creek park. We’ll have brief instructions and start as close to 8:30am as possible. We’ve done this course several times – no one has done it as a relay\, but that is certainly an option if you want to divide it up with another person.

Participants will drop off kayak at Williams Wharf at 11am (we’ll have a volunteer posted there to keep an eye on the kayaks and assist with the transition) and drive to starting area at Put-In-Creek park. We’ll have brief instructions and start as close to 11:30am as possible. We’ve done this course several times – no one has done it as a relay\, but that is certainly an option if you want to divide it up with another person. \nBring a lunch. We’ll enjoy the brand new pavilion at the finish area for a bring-your-own picnic lunch. Again: everyone & anyone is welcome to participate: you do not have to be a VTTR club member or Mathews resident to take part. \nTiming. Timing equipment will be on hand if we have volunteers show up to operate it. So if you’re interested in your overall time\, be prepared with your own watch/ timing device. A volunteer will be at transition point only. The course is on open road & open water – competitors will participating at their own risk. Event will be held rain-or-shine – it will only be cancelled on race morning due to lightning (posted on Virginia Tidewater Trailrunners Facebook page).
