Located on Court Street on the Historic Courthouse Green in Mathews County\, Virginia\, the market is open 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each Saturday from April through October. \nFood\, flowers\, and gifts galore! Our vendors feature a variety of fresh vegetables\, along with homemade bread and bakery goods\, eggs\, and meat. In addition\, our vendors offer plants\, flowers (potted and bouquets)\, handmade crafts\, clothing\, and jewelry. You are also likely to find handmade ceramics\, soaps\, yarns\, and various types of artwork. \nBring the entire family (including pets) for all to enjoy the pleasant social atmosphere. We also encourage everyone to check out the surrounding shops and restaurants in downtown Mathews\, all within easy walking distance of the market.  \n\nCOVID-19 Vendor and Customer Guidelines: \nVendor Guidelines \n\nVendors are required to wear a mask.\nVendors will be spaced 6-ft apart.\nVendors’ booths will be set up to prevent touching of multiple surfaces by customers.\nVendors will have hand sanitizer and cleaning products to meet all enhanced cleaning guidelines.\n\nCustomer Guidelines \n\nFace masks are recommended for all visitors to the market.\nCustomers enter the market at the corner of Church and Court Streets by the monument.\nCustomers abide by the 6-ft distancing guidelines and ask visitors not to assemble in groups in front of vendor booths or walkways.\nKeep children with you at all times.

SUMMARY:Gloucester House and Garden Tour – Historic Garden Week in Virginia
DESCRIPTION:Gloucester County’s rich history dates from just after the settlement at Jamestown in 1607 and its role during the American Revolution was pivotal. The southern tip of the county’s peninsula extends into the York River and is directly across from Yorktown.  This prime military vantage point is the location of one of our properties\, Little England Farm\, built in 1716.  Visitors will enjoy access to additional private homes and grounds\, including Sweetgrass\, a low-country style home which looks across the Severn River to Warner Hall\, George Washington’s great-great-grandfather’s estate.  Also open is Belvinhem Quay\, which overlooks Timberneck Creek and boasts an extensive art collection.  Abingdon Episcopal Church\, the largest colonial church in Virginia and one of only eight built in the form of a Latin cross\, will be tour headquarters.  All properties are in the town of Hayes. \nHeadquarters at Abingdon Episcopal Church\, 4645 George Washington Memorial Hwy\, Hayes (White Marsh).  Lunches\, tours of the church\, live organ music\, tickets\, and local brochure with map are available on tour day. Note that all groups must have someone over 18 years old and are responsible for their own transportation. \n9am-12pm – Clean a roadway with your group. Keep count of bags collected and leave our orange trash bags on the side of the road. We will have a list of high priority roads if your group does not have a place in mind. \n12pm – Return supplies\, and come back for a free pizza lunch! \nWe will provide two FREE meals\, and all the equipment you will need: vests\, trash bags\, gloves\, and nets.
