DESCRIPTION:Curator of Textiles and Historic at Dress Colonial Williamsburg Foundation to Speak \nNeal Hurst\, Curator of Textiles and Historic Dress at the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation will be guest speaker. “I produce the highest quality 17th – 19th Century men’s clothing. I provide clothing to not only re-enactors but to museums and living history sites\,“ says Hurst\, “and I have spent over 15 years studying and recreating 17th\, 18th\, and 19th century clothing for interpreters\, reenactors\, and museums.” \nHurst received his Bachelor of Art in history at the College of William & Mary\, and his Master of Arts and Sciences at the University of Delaware.

DESCRIPTION:Please join the Bay School on November 13 for a Progressive Dinner Party celebrating Turkish cuisine.\nThe festivities begin at 5:30 with appetizers and Yeni Raki Cocktails at The Bay School. You will have first chance to shop the Holiday Pop-Up Shop while you sip and mingle.\n\nAt 6:00\, we will walk to The White Dog Bistro to savor a four-course authentic Turkish dinner with the entree of your choice. Your dinner includes two glasses of Turkish wine. A cash bar will also be open.\n\nTickets are $135 per person for members\, $145 per person for non-members.\n\nTurkish Progressive Dinner Menu:\n\nFirst Course (Seated) Salad\nTraditional Vegetable Salad with Marinated Tomato\, Cucumber\, Mediterranean Olives\, Sweet Pepper\, Walnuts and Currants. Served with Toasted Flatbread and Seasoned Olive Oil.\n\nSecond Course (Seated) Soup\nTraditional Mercimek Corbasi (Vegan Red Lentil Soup)\n\nThird Course Entrée Selections\n1. Our member artists and artisans benefit from a remarkably diverse range of skills\, mediums\, backgrounds that are as unique as the people who call Mathews County their home.   \nCollectively they produce a staggering array of fine art\, textiles\, traditional crafts\, furniture\, jewelry\, home and body products\, glass and sculpture\, every piece authentic and handmade right here in Mathews County.   \nThe 2024 Made in Mathews Studio Tour will take place:\n \n\nNov. 29: 10-5 pm\nNov. 30: 10-5pm\nDec. 1: 12-5pm *Artists Sunday*\nDec. 7: 10-5pm\nDec. 8: 12-5pm\n\nWith the addition of the second weekend\, we hope to spread the attendance out so everyone has a chance to come enjoy the Open Studios!
