The exhibit will be open from July 1 to August 31.\nThe highlight of the display is an original clipping from the September 24\, 1776\, issue of the Leicester Journal\, a historic newspaper from Leicester\, England. The article details Lord Dunmore’s involvement in the Battle of Gwynn’s Island. This framed item\, displayed between panes of glass\, was a gift from Margaret Jones Perritt of Gloucester in July 1999 and is being showcased for the first time.\nOther components of the exhibit include a panel on Gwynn’s Island\, an account of the battle\, a copy of Thomas Jefferson’s map of the Gwynn’s Island/Milford Haven area\, a DAR artifact\, excerpts from Captain Thomas Posey’s diary detailing his participation in the battle\, and accounts of the battle’s aftermath.
